Portland Timbers News Release

PORTLAND, Ore. - United Soccer Leagues today announced that three members of the Portland Timbers - forward Mandjou Keita, midfielder Ryan Pore and defender David Hayes - were selected to the USL First Division Team of the Week for Week 19.

All three were vital in the Timbers' back-to-back wins over the Montreal Impact and Rochester Rhinos on the road last week, helping the club extend its USL First Division record unbeaten streak to 22 games.

It is Pore's third selection of the season, while both Keita and Hayes were named to the Team of the Week for a fourth time.

With a goal and an assist in a 4-1 victory against Rochester over the weekend, Keita, 29, leads the USL First Division in scoring with 23 points, from nine goals and five assists. He is also tied for the league lead in goals scored. Keita, a native of Guinea, has registered two goals and three assist over the Timbers' last three games.

Pore, 25, recorded two goals and an assist during the Timbers road trip, including the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over the Impact on Aug. 12. He has scored in each of Portland's last five matches and has quickly joined league leaders in scoring and goals scored with 18 points and eight goals, respectively.

Hayes, 33, logged his fifth assist of the season in the Timbers' win over Rochester, connecting with midfielder Keith Savage on a free kick in the 80th minute. He has been a part of the Timbers' backline that has recorded two shutouts in the last four games and has allowed a league-low 12 goals through 23 matches in 2009.

The Timbers play host to the Miami FC Blues Saturday at PGE Park at 7:15 p.m. The first 2,000 kids 12 and under receive a Timbers replica jersey courtesy of Fred Meyer. Tickets start at $11 and are available through the PGE Park box office, area Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at (800) 745-3000.
