
Three RMFC SYL Youth Teams March into USL Championships

The end of the USL Super-Y League regular season means the end of the road for some Real Maryland teams. However, Real Maryland will proudly be sending three teams to the North American Finals in Tampa, Florida to compete for the North American Championship.
Two of the teams, the Under-13 Girls and Under-17 Boys, finished second in their respective groups while the U13 Boys finished third in their group in the Mid Atlantic division.
The USL North American Finals will be held in Tampa, Florida, and is scheduled to run from November 19th through November 23rd. A total of sixteen teams will clash at every age level in the boys Super Y-League's U13-U17 divisions. On the girl's side, twelve teams will meet from each of the five age divisions. The 2010 version of the Super Y-League finals is the greatest representative of elite youth talent in North America now that the league encompasses nine regions across the United States and Canada.
The Under-13 Boys team, led by head coach Billy Brush, finished their regular season with a solid 8-3-3 record and a goal differential of 13. This is their first year as a Real Maryland FC SYL Team and it will be their first trip to the North American Championship.
Led by Carlos Machado and Devon Tan, the Under-13 Boys' offense has proven itself potent, scoring 36 goal on the season.
The Under-13 Girls team also in their first season as a Real Maryland FC Team is coached by Brett Menge. They will also be making their first appearance in the North American Championship. The squad finished with a 6-3-1 record in second place in Group B.
The team, led by Jordan Menge, Stephanie Shin, and Carolyn Eichorn, dominated teams with their defensive ability; their defense had a season best seven goals allowed over the course of the entire regular season.
Under the guidance of head coach Roger Fernandez, the Under-17 Boys team finished with an impressive record 7-3-0, qualifying for the second year in a row for the North American Championships.
The flourished both offensively and defensively, finishing in the top three in goals scored and goals allowed in their division. Henry Lopez, called up to the Guatemalan U20 National Team, accounted for 14 of the 32 goals the squad scored over the course of the season.
Real Maryland would like to offer their congratulations to these three times on their accomplishments so far, and wish them the best of luck in their quest for a North American Championship.
