Monarchs Announce New SYL Coach Dylan Dempsey

Silver Spring, MD - Real Maryland FC is proud to announce the hiring of Coach Dylan Dempsey for the U14 Boys 2011 Super Y League Team.

Dylan Dempsey brings an extensive playing and coaching background to the Monarchs. He graduated high school a year early to play professionally in Europe for St. Patrick's Athletic in Ireland. Dylan later spent time with RCD Espanol de Barcelona "Juvenil A" in Barcelona, Spain before being loaned to U.E. Villassar de Mar (Villassar de Mar, Spain).

He then returned to the United States to get his B.A. Degree from the University of Maryland with a Major in Kinesiology. While finishing up school, Dylan played with the Northern Virginia Royals of the United Soccer League's Player Development League (PDL).

Dylan began his soccer play in the Maryland Area winning three Maryland State High School Championships with River Hill High School, playing within the Maryland ODP system and in the Region I Premier League with the Bethesda Soccer Club.

Currently, Dylan holds his NSCAA National Diploma (Distinguished Pass) and his NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.

In 2010, Coach Dempsey was hired as the Head Coach of the Junior Varsity Soccer Program at Richard Montgomery High School and was appointed to the Maryland State ODP Staff.

"We believe Dylan is another example of the type of coach we want training our players," says General Manager David Noyes. "He grew up and played locally and now is looking to give back to his community."

The first round of tryouts for the 2011 Super Y League Season begins on Sunday, December 19th. The Monarchs will offer tryouts for teams in both the boys and girls divisions from ages U13-U17. The tryouts will take place at Richard Montgomery High School Stadium Field from 10:00 am - 6:30 pm.

Real Maryland FC is a proud member of the United Soccer Leagues and has recently sent a number of teams to the USL's Super Y League National Finals. This past 2010 Season, three teams qualified for the SYL National Finals - U13 Girls, U13 Boys and the U17 Boys.
