New Jersey Titans News Release
The Titans used three power-play markers to defeat the Johnstown Tomahawks 5-2 at Middletown Ice World.
The Tomahawks, coming off a 7-3 victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, found the back of the cage first when Cameron Smith put away a back door pass from Andrew Romano on the power play to break the scoreless tie.
Approximately two minutes later, the Titans would knot things up with a power play goal from Garrett Hallford. Raymond Brice and Anthony Cusanelli registered the helpers.
In the second period, the Titans went to work.
Keegan Miller scored 54 seconds into the period to give the Titans the lead. Christopher Murphy also tallied a goal to make it 3-1.
New Jersey made it 4-1 when Hallford scored his second goal of the game on the man advantage 1:42 into the third period.
Johnstown responded less than a minute later when Anthony Parrucci scored his third goal of the weekend. Brendan Jaquay added the lone assist.
Once again on the power play, Mike Gelatt sealed the victory for New Jersey with a goal of his own. Brice and Seiya Hayata assisted on Gelatt's first of the season.
Josh Creelman earned his first win, stopping 19 of 21 shots. Camden Burgrabbe took the loss for Johnstown, saving 26 of 31 shots.
New Jersey travels to Blaine, Minn., for the NAHL Showcase from Sept. 23-26.
