Three Major League Outfielders Join Somerset Patriots

Bridgewater, NJ- The Five-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced the signings of outfielders Jeff Baisley, Luis Montanez, and Mike Wilson.

Baisley has Major League experience with the Oakland A's during the 2008 season, when he appeared in 14 games for the team and hit .256 with 11 hits and five RBI.

Baisley also has four seasons of Triple-A experience for the A's, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Los Angeles Dodgers, Detroit Tigers, and Chicago White Sox organizations.

He hit .284 with 64 hits, 15 doubles, eight home runs, and 41 RBI in 62 games for Albuquerque last season.

He has a minor league career .280 average, 838 hits, 203 doubles, 97 home runs, and 496 RBI in 793 games.

Montanez has Major League time with the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago Cubs, most recently in 2011. He was Chicago's first pick, third overall, in the 2000 draft.

In addition to his Major League time, Montanez has six seasons of Triple-A experience for the organizations and the St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies.

He hit .259 with 68 hits, nine doubles, and 25 RBI in 84 games for Triple-A Memphis last season.

Montanez has a minor league career .284 average, 1,278 hits, 254 doubles, 47 triples, 96 home runs, and 619 RBI in 1,227 games played.

Wilson appeared in eight games for the Seattle Mariners during the 2011 season. In addition, he has four seasons of Triple-A experience with the team, including all of last year.

He hit 27 home runs and drove in 84 runs at Double-A during the 2008 season.

Wilson has a minor league career .267 average, 876 hits, 184 doubles, 17 triples, 157 home runs, and 571 RBI in 918 games played.
