Three Junior Blue Jackets on NHL Central Scouting list

November 2, 2006 - United States Hockey League (USHL) - Ohio Junior Blue Jackets News Release

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Junior Blue Jackets have three current players and two United States Hockey League Futures Draft picks who were tabbed by NHL Central Scouting as "players to watch" for the 2007 NHL Draft to be held in Columbus. The list was initially produced Oct. 26 and the USHL released the information earlier this week.

The current Junior Blue Jackets labeled as 'B' players are center Danny Hobbs (UMASS-Amherst), right wing Matt Bourdeau and right wing Donnie Hallmark. The two Ohio Futures picks, left wing C.J. Severyn and defenseman Tommy Cross (Boston College) were both marked as 'A' players. An 'A' player is one who is projected to be selected in the first three rounds of the upcoming draft, while a 'B' player is one who expected to be taken in the later rounds of the draft.

"This is great exposure for our players," said Ohio Junior Blue Jackets General Manager Don Harkins. "To have these players be recognized as potential NHL Draft picks for the 2007 Draft, which will be held at Nationwide Arena, is great for our program."

This list is the first of the year. Central Scouting will put out a Mid-term Ranking in January 2007, giving an updated version of the list.

The Junior Blue Jackets return to action at Nationwide Arena 7 p.m. Saturday as they face off against the Omaha Lancers in the first of a two game weekend series. Game time for Sunday is set for 6 p.m. (ET).

Ohio Junior Blue Jackets individual game tickets for 2006-07 regular season home games are on sale now at Nationwide Arena, The Chiller Ice Rinks, all Ticketmaster Ticket Centers and For information on season tickets, mini-plans and group tickets, call (614) 246-PUCK or (800) NHL-COLS.
