Three Gems Homers Tame Cats, Tie Series With 9-6 Win

Victoria, British Columbia: July 31, 2013. Three solo home runs by Cam Newell (UC Santa Barbara) Nick Fisher (Linfield College) and Cole Trezek (Loyola Marymount) lead the Gems as they defeated Victoria 9-6 on Wednesday night at Royal Athletic Park in Victoria, BC.

The Gems Ian Buckles (George Fox University) came on in relief in the 5th inning and picked up his fourth win of the year and second in four days for the Gems, who remain in fourth place in the South Division with a record of 22-22. The HarbourCats fell to 19-24 on the year as Will Ballowe (University of Washington) took the loss and moved to 1-4 on the year.
