Kelowna Falcons News Release

The Kelowna Falcons recorded an 8-5 win on Wednesday night over the first place Corvallis Knights.

The visitors would get on the board first in the top of the second inning off Falcons' starter Jason Mouton. The Knights would score two runs, followed by a single run in the third inning to lead 3-0.

In the bottom of the fourth inning the Falcons fireworks began. After two straight singles from Grayson Porter and Jarryd Klemm, Porter would score on a wild pitch. Then Robby Witt walked, Scotland Church would single home Klemm. Three pitches later Cody Andreychuk would blast his first homerun of the season, a three run shot to give the home side their first lead of the contest; 5-3.

The lead was short lived however as the Knights would tie it in the top of the fifth inning with a pair of runs off Mouton.

In the bottom of the sixth inning the Falcons would retake the lead, this time for good with two more runs. Nathan Robertson would double home Andreyschuk, then Darren Kolk would bring in Robertson.

The Falcons would then tack on one more insurance run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Robertson would collect his second double of the game, setting up Nolan Johnson to tally his 14th RBI of the season.

Falcons' starter Mouton seemed to get stronger as the game went on, at one point retiring seven straight Knights and holding them without a hit after the fifth inning. Mouton would throw eight innings, scattering eight hits while striking out three on route to his second win of the summer.

James Sloan would pitch the ninth, recording his first save of the season.

The Falcons (16-28), who collected 14 hits on Wednesday night will host the Knights (28-16) for the final time on Thursday night at 6:35pm. Caleb Olson is the scheduled starter.
