Three Former Raiders Commit to University of Alberta

Prince Albert SK- Former Prince Albert Raiders' Jordan Rowley, Jordan Hickmott and James Dobrowolski will be playing for the University of Alberta's Golden Bears for the 2011-12 season.

21-year-old defenceman Jordan Rowley is the most recent of the three to have played for the Raiders, finishing his Western Hockey League career with the team as a 20 year old this past 2010-11 season. He was acquired from the Kamloops Blazers midway through the 2008-09 campaign for defenceman Zak Stebner. Rowley dressed for 168 games with the Raiders, notching 21 goals and 90 assists for 111 points to go along with 215 penalty minutes. He was the Raiders co-captain during the 2010-11 campaign and won the teams Humanitarian Award acknowledging exceptional community involvement.

"I'm excited to continue my education while also being able to play hockey for a first class team," said Rowley. "I had some great years in Prince Albert and I am looking forward to take the next step in my personal and professional development."

21-year-old forward Jordan Hickmott notched 71 points in 144 games over two full seasons with the Raiders from 2008-2010. He was dealt to the Edmonton Oil Kings last June in exchange for European centre Sebastian Svendsen and the Oil King's 3rd round selection in the 2011 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Six foot three, 201-pound left-winger James Dobrowolski rounded out the trio of Raider Alumni to be signed by the Bears. He was the Raiders 3rd round, 48th overall selection in the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft and notched 42 points (17-25-42) in 138 games from 2007-2009 with the Raiders.
