Three Bucks Named All Star Reserves

LAREDO, TX- The Central Hockey League announced Wednesday that three Laredo Bucks have been named reserves for South Texas in the 2010 CHL All Star Game Presented by Laredo Energy on January 13th at the Laredo Entertainment Center.

Jeff Bes (forward), Evan Schwabe (forward) and Jarred Mohr (defense) will join Bucks starters Darryl Smith (forward), Adam Rivet (defense) and J.P Levasseur (goaltender) as Laredo's six All-Stars.

Bes will be making his fourth CHL All-Star apperance, while Schwabe and Mohr will be making their first.

"There's no doubt that Jeff, Evan and Jarred deserve to be all-stars this season," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "The six Bucks that we chose will give us a great chance to beat the CHL this season."

Bes, a two-time CHL MVP, 2006 CHL Playoff MVP, and 2006 All-Star game MVP has averaged over a point per game this year as he has picked up 32 points (10-2232) in 28 games for the Bucks. Bes has a team-leading nine multi-point games this season, and is coming off of a five-game point streak (12-17-12/27). Bes is tied for the team lead with five power-play goals.

The 36-year-old Bes has his name scattered across the Bucks record book. He is first all-time in goals (190), assists (352), and points (542), and is 19 games away from tying former Team Captain Serge Dube for first in games played (381). Bes, from Tillsonburg, Ontario, also has his name in the CHLrecord book, as he is 13th all time in assists and is one goal away from 25th all time in league history. Bes currently has 947 points in his 18-year professional career, putting him 53 points away from 1,000.

Schwabe, who is in his fifth professional season, is second on the Bucks in scoring with 27 points (9-1827) in 28 games this season. Schwabe has eight multi-point games this season, and has picked up a point in five of the Bucks last seven games. Schwabe has a team-leading plus-four rating, and is fourth on the Bucks with seven power-play assists.

Schwabe, a native of Moose Jaw Saskatchewan, spent the last two seasons overseas before returning to North America for the 2009-10 campaign. The 27-year-old Schwabe picked up his 200th career point earlier this season and his four games away from playing in his 250th professional game. Schwabe spent the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons in the ECHL, where he put up a total of 123 points (43-80123) in 129 games.

Mohr, in his fourth professional season, has picked up 14 points (2-1214) in 28 games this season. Mohr has four multi-point games so far this season including a season-high three game point streak (12/19-12/26). Mohr's eight power-play assists are third on the Bucks.

Mohr will play in his first professional All-Star game on his 25th birthday (Jan. 13th).

Mohr, from Regina, Saskatchewan, is nearing several career high's this season. He is one goal away from tying his career high (3), six assists away from tying his career high (18) and seven points away from tying his career high (21).

**ABOUT THE ALL-STAR GAME**

The night before the game, on Tuesday January 12th the Bucks will host the All-Star Banquet presented by Laredo Energy. This is your chance to meet both the South Texas All-Star team, and the CHL All-Star team.

Laredo becomes the first CHL Franchise to host the All-Star Game twice in the same arena, as the 2005 game was held at the LEC. Oklahoma City has hosted the All-Star Game twice, but in two different venues. The Blazers held the 1999 game at the Myriad, while the 2003 game was at the Ford Center.

The 2005 All-Star Game was won by the North 14-13 in a shootout, in front of 5,500 fans at the LEC. During the 2005 All-Star festivities the Stanley Cup made it's first ever trip to Mexico, as it was taken across the border to Nuevo Laredo.
