Three Bandits Head NLL All-Star Starting Line Up

BUFFALO, NY (February 16, 2009) --- The National Lacrosse League announced today that three Buffalo Bandits were voted in as starters for the 2009 All-Star Game on March 7 in Denver, CO. A combined vote of league general managers, media and fans determined the starting line-ups.

Mark Steenhuis was named to his sixth-straight All-Star game as he enters the week as the league leader in assists (31) and points (54) along with 23 goals. Steenhuis set the NLL record for points in a single game with 17 (4+13) against Toronto on Saturday.

Chris White was selected to his second-straight All-Star game. White is a member of the NLL's top defensive unit. The Bandits are currently allowing only nine goals per game. White has two assists and 17 penalty minutes on the season.

The third and final Bandit selected to be an All-Star starter is goaltender Ken Montour. This is the first All-Star selection for the NLL's leader in GAA (7.50) and save percentage (.849). Montour has yet to suffer a loss on the season, he enters week eight with a 4-0 record.

The East and West reserve rosters will be named later in the week with the 2009 All-Star game set to take place at the Pepsi Center in Denver on March 7 at 9 p.m.

Buffalo will be in action again on Friday night in Toronto at 7 p.m. Fans can listen to the game live on WWKB 1520 AM or catch the action on the NLL Network at nll.com by following the link at www.bandits.com.
