Three Aviators Make USL Team of the Week

Edmonton, July 7, 2004 – Three Edmonton Aviators Men’s team players have been named to the A-League’s team of the week for the week ending July 4th, including Sean Fraser who was named the A-League player of the week.
Fraser scored two goals and assisted on one as the Edmonton Aviators battled back from a 2-0 deficit to beat the Western Conference leading Vancouver Whitecaps. His contribution to the AviatorsÂ’ second win in two games earned him A-League player of the week honours.
Midfielder Gordon Chin was appointed to the A-League team of the week for his contribution to both Aviators wins during the week. On June 28th, Chin scored the overtime winner as Edmonton beat Calgary at Commonwealth Stadium in overtime. Less than a week later, Chin set up Fraser for the winning goal in the 89th minute of their match with the Whitecaps in Vancouver.
Aviators goalkeeper Jose Luis Campi has also been named to the A-League team of the week. On June 28th, Campi made six saves against Calgary to earn a shutout and his first win of the season. On July 4, Campi faced 21 shots and made 10 saves in the AviatorsÂ’ 3-2 win in Vancouver.
The Edmonton Aviators MenÂ’s team is in Seattle tonight to take on the Sounders (8pm MST) before traveling to Portland to face the Timbers on July 8th (7pm MST). The Edmonton Aviators Women are also in Seattle tonight to take on the Sounders Women (5pm MST).
Both teams return home for the final double-header of the season on July 13th as the Men take on Vancouver at 6pm (MST) and the Women take on Calgary at 8:30 pm (MST).
