Thorns FC Top Orlando Pride in 2-1 Win at Providence Park

PORTLAND, Ore. - With a goal in each half, Thorns FC earned a 2-1 win against the Orlando Pride at Providence Park on Sunday night. Sophia Smith tallied her third goal of the season, while Marissa Everett scored her first goal of the campaign - the game winner - to help Portland secure the victory.

Goal Scorers

In eight appearances (4 starts) for Thorns FC (6-3-1, 16pts) this season, Smith has recorded three goals. All three of her goals have come at Providence Park. With Everett's first goal of the 2021 campaign, she is ninth different player to score this season for Portland. The goal was the second of her career and her first goal since 2019.

Mark Parsons recorded his 75th career NWSL win, which ranks as the second-most wins in league history.

The assist marked Klingenberg's 14th all-time with club, which is tied for second-most in club history with Christine Sinclair.
