Orlando City SC News Release
Notable Matches
May 21, 2016 vs. Montreal Impact - Cyle Larin finished off a brace with an 87th minute winner to cancel out an early goal from Ignacio Piatti and lift Orlando to a dramatic 2-1 win over Montreal at Camping World Stadium. This game was pretty nuts, with 30 shots taken between the two sides (15 for each) and Joe Bendik stopping six shots for the Lions. But it was Larin who got the glory after a gorgeous sequence which saw Cristian Higuita whip in a perfect cross for Kaká, who played an insanely clever 1-2 with Julio Baptista to unsettle the defense before finding Larin for the winner.
May 19, 2019 vs. FC Cincinnati - Orlando greeted MLS newcomers Cincinnati pretty rudely last season, stomping the new boys 5-1 at Exploria Stadium. Cincy's Darren Mattocks got the visitors feeling good early, but Tesho Akindele equalized with a sizzling strike before halftime, and the Lions blew the doors off in the second half, with a brace from Nani (the second of which marked Orlando's 200th goal in MLS), another goal from Akindele, and a feel-good moment for Dom Dwyer. Check them all out:
