CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Two bad angle goals played havoc for the IceRays on Friday night as the Texas Tornado picked up a 3-2 win inside the American Bank Center.

CJ Reuschlein put the Tornado on the board just 5:36 into the game with assists to Alex Temby and Brandon Hawkins to give Texas a 1-0 lead.

The IceRays tied the game minutes later. A shot from the point by Grant Hutton was stopped by Hunter Leisner. The rebound was picked up by Perry D'Arrisso and fired into the net tying the game at the 8:25 mark.

Brandon Hawkins, who recorded a hat-trick last night, scored a late goal on the power-play to regain the lead for Texas.

In the second, Roman Uchyn located the puck during a scramble in front of the net. Uchyn tapped it by Leisner to once again tie the game, this time, 11:39 into the second.

Texas notched the game winning goal on another off-angle shot by Brandon Hawkins with 14 minutes left in the game. Corpus Christi could not force overtime and lost 3-2.

The IceRays put up 39 shots on net in the loss, while Jett Salinas denied 33 of 36 shots.

Corpus Christi hosts the Wichita Falls Wildcats this upcoming Friday and Saturday night. Puck drops at 7:05PM, coverage begins at 6:50PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on SportsJuice.com, the TuneIn Radio APP, and fasthockey.com.
