Third Overall Pick Connor Lockhart Commits to Otters

Erie, Pennsylvania - Erie Otters Hockey Club General Manager Dave Brown announced today that forward Connor Lockhart, the third overall choice in the 2019 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection, has committed to the team and completed an OHL Standard Player Agreement.

Lockhart, a 5'9", 161-pound forward, appeared in 41 games for the Kanata Lasers of Hockey Eastern Ontario where he produced 79 points (30G-49A) to tie for the league scoring title. The 16-year-old recorded 49 assists during the 2018-19 campaign to lead HEO and help earn Lockhart HEO Midget AAA Top Rookie honors for the season. A Kanata, Ontario native, Lockhart served as an alternate captain for Team Ontario at the 2019 Canada Winter Games, winning a silver medal while posting four goals and seven points in six games at the tournament.

Lockhart most recently was selected to team HEO for the OHL Gold Cup at the beginning of May, where he finished third on his team in scoring with three points (1G-2A) in the four-game tournament, helping HEO to a fifth-place finish. He's also the first player to be selected third overall by the Otters at an OHL Priority Selection in the team's 23-year history in Erie.

Otters General Manager Dave Brown will formally introduce Connor Lockhart and his family at a media availability this evening, Friday, May 17, at 7p.m. inside the Erie Otters locker room at the Erie Insurance Arena.

Connor Lockhart, as well as members of the Erie Otters 2019 OHL Priority Selection, Under-18 Priority Selection, and previous draft classes, will participate in the team's annual orientation camp being held Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19 at ERIEBANK Sports Park. On-ice activity is open to the media and public, with Erie Otters staff and players available following on ice segments.

Team Navy Skills Session 9-10 AM Goalie Session 8:30-9:30 AM

Team White Skills Session 10-11 AM Navy vs. White Scrimmage 9:30-11 AM

Goalie Session 4:30-5:30 PM

Full Practice 5:30-7 PM
