Stockton has won nine-straight home games dating back to January 2

That is the fifth longest streak in the AHL

The Heat are one win away from the tied-third longest streak with 10 (Providence from 12/04 to 1/15 and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton from 10/17 to 11/28)

The longest streak is Grand Rapids 14 straight home wins from 11/11 to 1/15

During the Streak the Stockton Heat have:

Outscored Opponents 35-16 (3.89 goals-for per game - 1.78 goals-against per game)

Outshot Opponents 369-283 (41 shots-for per game - 31.4 shots-against per game)

Gone 11 for 36 on the power play (30.6%)

To compare Stockton has the seventh best power play at home this season going 20 for 91 (22%) for the season

Killed off 31 of 34 penalties taken (91.2%)

To compare, the Heat have the killed off 62 of 73 penalties at home this season, placing them in the middle of the AHL (15th) for the best home PK unit in the league (84.9%)

Seen Kevin Poulin win six of those nine games while Joni Ortio won three

The Heat have also allowed two or fewer goals in all but one game. In fact it was the first game of the current nine-game win streak when the Heat completed their first third period comeback win over the Texas Stars 7-6 in a shootout on January 2.'

Overall this season, Stockton has outscored opponents by 23 at home but have been outscored by 25 on the road

Stockton matched their season high for shots in a single period on Sunday with 21 on San Antonio goalie Spencer Martin in the 1st period. Stockton then surpassed their previous season high (53 on November 21 vs. SJ) on Valentine's Day as they peppered Martin with 55 shots

Stockton is undefeated at home when:

The game falls on a Sunday (2-0-0-0)

The team plays Manitoba (2-0-0-0), Rockford (1-0-0-0), San Antonio (2-0-0-0) and Texas (1-0-0-0)

Score the first goal of the game (11-0-0-0)

Lead after one period (7-0-0-0)

Lead after two periods (9-0-0-0)

Tied after two periods (4-0-0-0)

Stockton has also gone eight-straight games with a power play goal dating back to January 23 vs. Manitoba

Stockton has gone 9 for 32 (28.1%)

Mason Raymond scored his first goal in the AHL since January 15, 2008 on Tuesday in the loss to Bakersfield

He also recorded his first multi-point game in the AHL since January 13, 2008 in that same game

Raymond is now on a three game point streak with 2 goals and 3 assists. He has 2 goals and 4 assists in 5 games for the Heat this season

All four of Raymond's assists have come on the power play

Kenny Agostino has 19 of his 34 points in 2016. Seven of those points have come in the last four games

His 11 multi-point games are one shy of tying Derek Grant for the most on the team

However, Agostino's 3 multi-goal games are far shy of Grant's 7 multi-goal efforts

Agostino became the second player on the Heat to record 4 points in a game on Sunday. Grant accomplished this twice this season

Kevin Poulin recorded his eighth career shutout (second this season) on Saturday against Ontario.

It was a 36-save shutout tying him with Jon Gillies (October 21 at Texas) for the most saves in a shutout performance

He's one away from tying his AHL season high of 3 shutouts accomplished while playing for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in 2011-12

Had a 106:29 shutout streak from Saturday to Sunday before allowing a goal

Derek Grant may have fallen injured this past week while in practice with a fractured jaw, but he is still sitting on a five-game point streak with 6 goals and 4 assists during the streak. In that same timespan, Grant has a four-game goal streak which is the longest in Stockton Heat team history.

Grant's 23 goals still leads the AHL but is now tied with Mike Sislo of the Albany Devils

It's also his career high

You Could Say Things at Stockton Arena are Going Well!

The Stockton Heat are staying right in the middle of the playoff hunt and no question it's because of a terrific run at home since the calendar turned to 2016.

The Heat have rattled of win after win, totaling nine straight wins since January 2 including:

January 2 - Stockton 7 vs. Texas 6 (SO)

January 3 - Stockton 3 vs. Bakersfield 1

January 13 - Stockton 6 vs. San Antonio 2

January 22 - Stockton 2 vs. Manitoba 1 (SO)

January 23 - Stockton 3 vs. Manitoba 2 (OT)

January 27 - Stockton 2 vs. Ontario 1 (OT)

January 30 - Stockton 4 vs. Bakersfield 2

February 13 - Stockton 3 vs. Ontario 0

February 14 - Stockton 5 vs. San Antonio 1

Stockton heads out for one against the Reign in Ontario, California before returning home to try and chase down wins 10, 11, 12 and 13 in-a-row at home as they finish the month at Stockton Arena. Overall this year the Heat have gone 14-6-0-0 at home.

Mase is on the Case

No doubt that the Heat losing Derek Grant was a severe blow to the squad but stepping up to try and help fill the void was Mason Raymond, the 542 NHL game veteran who was sent to the Heat this month.

Raymond has showcased his speed and talent to hit over a point-per-game (2-4-6 in just 5 games) and has been able to keep the Stockton Heat power play afloat with the absence of Grant, contributing on four of five power-play goals since coming to the Heat.

After recording back-to-back multi-point efforts on Tuesday in Bakersfield and Saturday against Ontario, Raymond helped the Heat seal the victory on Sunday with a power-play assist on Kenny Agostino's second goal of the night.

Not only though has Raymond been able to help fill the void offensively for the Heat, he has also been a smart two-way player for Stockton, showcasing that in every game, but most noticeably in his home debut on Saturday against the defending Calder Cup champions when he picked off a long stretch pass that could have sprung Ontario on the breakaway.

No doubt Raymond is working his way back to contributing in Calgary, but with a leader like Grant out of the lineup for some time, Stockton is sure glad he's here to help.

Tough Matchups This Week

Not only do the Heat have to head to the lion's den so to speak in Ontario this weekend where the Reign have been very good, but the Heat will welcome back to Stockton Arena a San Jose Barracuda team that they've struggled against.

While Stockton has won in Ontario, the last meeting at Citizens Business Bank Arena was a big 6-1 win for the Reign back on January 8, however since then, the Heat have won two games (both at home) against Ontario and have a chance to even the season series with a win on Wednesday.

As for San Jose, Stockton has had a very tough time playing against the team, having gone 1-4-1-0 vs. San Jose in six previous meetings. The good news is that San Jose has gone 2-3-0-0 in their last five and are entering Stockton Arena during a time where the Heat's confidence at home is at an all-time high! Stockton will look for their first win against the Barracuda since November 21 when the Heat beat the team at Stockton Arena in the shootout thanks to a heroic performance from Kent Simpson who came in during the shootout and got the win.

Great Promotions to End the Month

The Heat are ending the month at home with four-straight at Stockton Arena starting on Saturday, February 20 against the San Jose Barracuda for Diabetes Awareness Night presented by Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort. The first 1,000 fans 13-years and over will receive a cool Heat Equipment Bag that you can take to the gym, or to school!

The following day on Sunday, February 21, the Heat will hand out an oversized Freddie Hamilton trading card to the first 1,000 fans while also seeing Family Day pricing in effect where you can pick up 2 tickets, 2 hot dogs, 2 sodas and a Heat cap for as low as $25!

During the weekend, Stockton will also wear the black alternate jerseys for the first time since debuting them on January 30.

Then on Wednesday, February 24, Stockton will host the San Diego Gulls for Oliver Kylington oversized trading card night before finishing their four-game homestand on Sunday, February 28 in the final meeting of the season with the San Antonio Rampage for youth black replica jersey night. The first 500 kids 12 and younger will receive the black replica jersey at the doors!
