
The Strykers Take Game One

Victoria, TX - Generals lose to the Woodlands Strykers tonight at Riverside Stadium by a score of 7-2 . The Generals had trouble getting across the plate tonight, Strykers starting pitcher Jack Finnegan had an outstanding night going 7 innings, only allowing 2 hits and striking out 9.
The Strykers started off the 1 st inning scoring 1 run and matched it in the 2 nd inning making the score 2-0 going into the Bottom of the 2 nd .
In the 3 rd and 4 th inning the Strykers added 5 more runs to make the score 7-0 going into the Bottom of the 4 th .
Troy Ward came in for middle relief in the 4 th inning and almost pitched perfect only allowing 1 hit and striking out 2.
Matt Burks would come in to pitch the last 2 innings of play for the Generals, allowing only 2 walks and striking out 1.
The Generals showed some life in the Bottom of the 9 th inning scoring 2 runs when Bryce Only hit a RBI single that would score Kyle Danford. And CJ Pickering would follow that up with a RBI walk that scored Cedric Vallieres, but it wouldn't be enough as the Generals fall.
Make sure to come root on your Generals Friday night as they try and take game 2 in this series against the Strykers. It will be Warrior's Weekend Night as the Generals will don their brand new patriotic jerseys. The jerseys will be auctioned off after Saturday's game with proceeds going to Warrior's Weekend. So come on out for a great cause, and of course dollar hot dogs and soda.
