THE RINKS - POWAY ICE TO HOST GRAND RE-OPENING

Fans are invited for a free open house with ice skating and Learn to Play hockey with Gulls players

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club and THE RINKS - Poway ICE, the team's official practice facility, will host a grand re-opening on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 12:30-4 p.m.

The open house event includes a meet and greet with Gulls players from 12:30-1 p.m., a Gulls locker room tour at 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m., a free open skating session with Gulls players from 1:15-2:15 p.m. and a one-day Learn to Play hockey session from 2:15-3:15 p.m. for children ages 4-12 who can try hockey for free with special instruction from Gulls players.

The San Diego Gulls Learn to Play Hockey Program offers first-time hockey players the chance to get on the rink in full hockey equipment for free. Participants will receive instruction on the basics of hockey as well as learn how to skate properly. Participants must register for the Learn to Play session at SanDiegoGulls.com/Poway.

Participants unable to attend the Learn to Play and wish to participate our four week Learn to Play session at THE RINKS - Poway ICE, sign up for our waitlist at SanDiegoGulls.com/LearnToPlay to be added to future sessions.

THE RINKS - Poway ICE offers youth and adult hockey programs, figure skating, a learn-to-skate program, public skating and broomball. In addition, the facility will also host group events, fundraisers and birthday parties. For additional program information for all RINKS facilities, visit www.The-Rinks.com.

Poway ICE is located east of the 15 freeway off the Scripps Poway Parkway exit in Poway, serving residents throughout all of San Diego County.
