World Record First Pitch Ceremony

Stars fans are burning thru the baseballs at Joe Davis Stadium. By 7:00 this morning their efforts have reached the 6,300 plateau. The umpires for our final home stand arrived at the stadium at 4:30 this morning from their last game in Mobile. At 4:45 all three were on the mound throwing pitches with fans calling balls and strikes.

Fans, if you ever wanted to throw out the game's honorary first pitch, today is your day. Simply head over to The Joe and walk right in; no ticket is required until 3:00 pm. Join other fans, staff, employees, players, coaches, etc., and be a part of a World Record.

Those that want to keep a baseball that has the imprint 'PARTICIPANT, WORLD RECORD FIRST PITCH' should be at the stadium at 3:00 pm. There is only a limited number of souvenir baseballs for this event and it's first come, first served. Somebody out there is going to wait until the last minute and not be able to get to throw one out because of the game ready to begin. Don't be that schmoe. Get to the stadium early and get in on the action.

We'll get you another email as we near the record.

Those that want to throw the last ball need to stop by a table on the concourse after 3:00 pm today and make a bid for it...proceeds benefit the North Alabama MDA.

We'd like to thank Cabinet NG for making this event possible.
