Vancouver-Following his dynamic performance in Edmonton on Friday night, Emmanuel Arceneaux has earned CFL Player of the Week honours as announced by the league this morning.

The speedy slotback had the best performance by a Lions receiver this season, hauling in seven catches for 164 yards and a pair of first half touchdown receptions in the 27-23 loss to the Eskimos. His second TD grab, which gave the visitors a 14-0 lead, went for 68 yards and was the longest play of the night.

Given the outcome of the game, Arceneaux was reserved in his comments about the lofty numbers.

"I honestly don't even remember that part of the game," he said of his heroics. "There were too many negative plays and we never got back on track. My personal accomplishments are pretty much irrelevant at this point. I don't want to speak out about individual success. It's more about what we didn't do."

In addition to his season-high performance on Friday, Arceneaux also leads all Leos receivers with 956 yards so far this season.

The Lions are currently in second place in the West Division with an 8-4 record. Arceneaux and his teammates return to the practice field today and will host the Ottawa REDBLACKS on Saturday night at 7:00 pm, presented by Tim Hortons and featuring the University of Washington Marching Band. -30- About the BC Lions Football Club The BC Lions Football Club is British Columbia's most successful professional sports organization with six Grey Cup wins: 1964, 1985, 1994, 2000, 2006 and 2011.
