Louisville Fire News Release
IT ALL COMES DOWN TO ONE GAME... With last Saturday's, 52 â 47, victory over Green Bay the Fire moved into a three way tie for first place with Peoria and this weekend's opponent Quad City. If the Fire wins this weekend they are in the playoffs. A win combined with a Peoria loss would give the Fire the Midwest Division title.
LISTEN UP... The Fire will be hosting a listen party this Saturday night at Kern's Korner on Bardstown Rd. The party will start at 8:30 p.m. and if you come wearing Fire gear the Fire will buy the first beverage of your choice. The game will be broadcast on 1080-WKJK AM.
ANOTHER HOME GAME? The Fire could still host a playoff game with a win this weekend and losses by both Peoria and Bakersfield. This would make the Fire the number two seed in the National Conference and give them a first round bye and a home game. The game would take place the second weekend of August.
PLAYOFF SCENARIOS... Right now there are about 30 different playoff scenarios in the National Conference. As many as five teams could end up 9-7 and there are various tie breakers in place to decide who will make the playoffs. One thing is for sure if the Fire wins they are in. If they lose they still have a shot, but will need a little help. All of the playoff scenarios will be available on www.af2.com today or tomorrow and on the Fire's website at www.louisvillefirefootball.com.
*STALLINGS STILL ALIVE IN THE JUNGLE*
Louisville Fire WR/DB Tony Stallings made it through another episode of the King of the Jungle 2 last night despite the efforts of the reigning king, Lang, to send him to the Lion's Pit Challenge.
The show started off with the Pride learning about an anteater. The challenge they were sent to do was then anteater related as they had to use a long plastic tube for suction, much like an anteater, to pick up various bugs and deposit them into a plastic container. Lang, a surf instructor from California, won the challenge to become king.
As the Pride headed back to camp it became clear that Lang felt Stallings was a serious threat to him. Stallings along with his buddies Roberto and Jacob were selected by Lang to participate in a makeshift basketball game using a t-shirt for the ball and a metal bucket as the basket. Once again Stallings' athletic skills prevailed and Roberto and Jacob were sent off to the Lion's Pit Challenge where Jacob survived.
You can catch the fourth installment of King of the Jungle 2 next Tuesday at 8:00 P.M. on Animal Planet. Stallings and the Fire will wrap up regular season at Quad City Saturday night at 8:30 P.M. The game can be heard on 1080-AM WKJK with Paul Wilman calling the action.
