"The Championship Countdown: Indy Eleven Kicks off the Championship Final Week at Tonight's Brickyar

INDIANAPOLIS- An active week for Indy Eleven leading up to Sunday's Final of The Championship, the North American Soccer League's (NASL) postseason tournament, at the New York Cosmos will begin with the handing out of hardware at tonight's Brickyard Battalion awards. The premier supporters group in the NASL will host its annual celebration of the Boys in Blue tonight at the IndyFringe Theatre (719 E. St. Clair Street) beginning at 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to all Indy Eleven fans and supporters.

The full Indy Eleven roster and coaching staff will be in attendance at tonight's event, which will include awards being handed out in five categories - Player of the Year, Moment of the Year, Goal of the Year, Most Improved Player and Community Relations Player of the Year. All players and coaches will be made available to members of the media,who are asked to contact John Koluder, Indy Eleven Director of Public Relations, at john@indyeleven.com or 317-919-0808 (mobile) for more details and to RSVP.

Tomorrow it's back to business for Indy Eleven, as the squad begins preparations for its first appearance in the NASL's Championship game this Sunday against the defending champion Cosmos. The Championship Final will take place at Belson Stadium on the campus of St. John's University in Jamaica, N.Y., with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. (live on CBS Sports Network).

Details for Indy Eleven's practice schedule and appearances at other community events in the upcoming days leading up to the team's departure on Friday will be released later this evening.
