Corpus Christi, TX- It's that time of year again...That's right, the Hammerheads are back and this year they're ready to take the NIFL by storm. Coach Jason McKinley is poised to instill a âtake no prisoners' attitude into the players this year as camp gets underway in just a few days. Look for an even higher level of play this year from your Hammerheads as one third of those players entering training camp have NFL experience.
Coach McKinley said he was excited about the prospects for the upcoming season and the roster is coming together with a few late additions. Following physicals with team doctor, Ellis G. Main, the players will have a team dinner courtesy of Olive Garden at 6 PM on Sunday, March 6, 2005. The media is encouraged to attend this team meeting as the players will be available for comment. Then, the action really starts to heat up as the team will start training camp practices Monday afternoon at Calallen High School. Forty players from all over the country will take the field on Monday and Coach McKinley will have his work cut out for him, as he has the daunting task of trimming the field to 22 active players and 8 or so on practice squad.
Count on some familiar faces to return as Quarterback Chris Harrington, Wide Receivers Martin Dossett and Chad Smithey, Defensive Backs Roy Salas and Rod Green, and Lineman LeDaniel Marshal as well as a few others are all back in camp this year and are ready to help the new-look Hammerheads win the 2005 NIFL Championship. The practice sessions are open to the public so come out and get a sneak peak of what the rest of the NIFL will soon find out. Opening night is just two weeks away so don't delay, if you don't have tickets yet no is the time to act, don't miss your chance to see the Hammerheads officially move the Shark Tank into the American Bank Center. Get ready to REEL IN THE ACTION!!!
