Winners of three straight, Jr. Blues return this weekend to the Nelson Center to start a five-game homestand The Springfield Jr. Blues ( http://www.JrBlues.com ) went on the road this past weekend and earned four tough points in the NAHL with two impressive wins at Janesville. The Jr. Blues now have a three-game winning streak and look to move up in the standings with their next five games at home in the Nelson Center.
"Those games in Janesville were tough, hard-nosed wins for our kids," said Jr. Blues coach Joe Dibble. "We are starting to hit our stride and play some great hockey. Returning home for five straight, in front of our passionate fans, gives us a tremendous chance to make up some ground in the Midwest Division."
The Jr. Blues, with 14 points in 16 games, currently sit fourth in the NAHL Midwest Division and are only two points out of third. With ten points on the line in this homestand, Jr. Blues fans have a great chance to get behind the team and help them move up the standings.
Bring out the family for Teddy Bear Toss, Coffee Mug Night
We will have promotions for the whole family this weekend as the Springfield Jr. Blues take on the Topeka RoadRunners at the Nelson Center. Friday, November 4 is the always fun Teddy Bear Toss. Any fan bringing a new or used teddy bear to the game can toss the teddy bear on the ice following the Jr. Blues first goal. All bears will be collected and donated to St. John's Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, Mini O'Bierne Crisis Nursey, or the Sojourn Shelter.
Brew up a good time on Saturday, November 5 with Coffee Mug Night. The first 500 fans will receive a Jr. Blues coffee mug...just in time for coffee or hot chocolate with the cooler weather.
And make plans to attend the Salute to Our Veterans at the Friday, November 11 game vs. the Janesville Jets.
