The Rockford Lightning announced on February 7, that Brant Bailey has signed for the remainder of the 2005-06 CBA season, pending league approval.

The 6-7 forward from Wisconsin-Stevens Point started 25 of 35 games for the Lightning during the 2004-2005 regular season. He was put on the injured reserve for the playoffs with a hamstring injury, but has been playing in Venezuela and Australia since the end of the Lightning season in April of 2005.

Bailey averaged 17.2 points and 4.0 rebounds in 25.4 minutes for the Lightning last season and was ranked sixth in the league in field goal percentage (55.2 %). He was also among team leaders in free throw percentage (80.1%). He averaged 18.3 points and 6.0 rebounds for the New Zealand Breakers in the Australian National Basketball League where he was the only member of the Breakers to be selected to play in the 2005 Virgin Blue Velocity NBL All-Star Game at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

"We are happy to have Brant back", said Lightning Head Coach Chris Daleo. "We consider him to be a local product, and he works hard. The crowd loves the baffler".

The Lightning will host the Gary Steelheads tonight at the MetroCentre. Bailey will be in uniform wearing jersey number 25 tonight with tip-off set for 7:05 P.M. (CST). The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Coach Daleo poster. Great seats are still available for the game.
