
Texas Signs Werek to AHL Contract

CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars, announced Tuesday the team has signed forward Ethan Werek an AHL standard player contract.
Werek (WAIR-ehk), 25, had been competing with the Stars this season under a professional tryout agreement. In 18 games this season with Texas, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound forward has tallied eight points on three goals and five assists.
The Markham, Ontario native is a former second-round pick of the New York Rangers (47th overall) in 2009. In his career, Werek has appeared in 293 AHL games and has tallied 100 points (45-55100).
The Texas Stars are the primary development affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars, and are currently playing their eighth season at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
