Texas Copperheads Announce New Director of Media Relations

(HOUSTON, TX.) - A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, J. Ronald Oswalt has worked over 15 years in marketing and public relations. Oswalt comes to the Copperheads after serving last season in the same capacity for the Katy Copperheads. He also serves as President/CEO for Oswalt Sports Photography and Vice-President of Corporate Development for Access Home Care in Pasadena, Texas.

He has lived in the greater Houston area over the last six years. He has worked for several Mississippi newspapers including the Richton Dispatch, Rankin County News, Laurel Leader-Call and many others.

Upon his arrival in Texas he has served as a sports writer for the 1960 sun and Tomball Potpourri both are Houston Community Newspapers which are a part of Westward Communications. His photos have also been featured on several sports websites over the last few years.

Oswalt is very active in the community serving on the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Committee and with several area Chamber of Commerce's.

He is supported by his wife Machel and his two boys Aubrey 14, and Hayden 5, with all family members looking forward to the Inaugural Copperheads football season. The appointment was announced October 25, 2006, by the Copperheads staff.

"It's a wonderful opportunity to work closely with extremely gifted and talented sports staff that makes up the Texas Copperheads in the Arena Football League Family," Oswalt said.

Fans will be able to visit to purchase game photos throughout the season and join the fan club started by Oswalt.

"I am particularly pleased with Ronald's experience and heart for working with our team," said Bryan Blake, Texas Copperheads Head Coach. "We are indeed fortunate."

"I appreciate the confidence that Bryan Blake and the search committee exemplified by selecting me for this position," said Oswalt. "I look forward to working with the area media outlets, fans, and supporters of the Texas Copperheads and the greater Houston area."
