Tulsa Oilers News Release

TULSA, OK - Oilers rookie Jeff Terminesi has been named a starting defenseman for the CHL All-Star Game the league announced Wednesday. The game will be played on January 11, 2012 in Prescott Valley, Arizona and a select group of CHL All-Stars will compete against the Arizona Sundogs.

Terminesi, who received votes on 28 of 53 All-Star ballots, is enjoying a stellar rookie campaign. Through 27 games this season, the Mississauga, Ontario native has 22 points (5 goals, 17 assists) while playing alongside Sean Erickson on Tulsa's top defensive pairing. The point total puts Terminesi in second place in scoring among defenseman behind only Andrew Martens of Wichita who will join Terminesi as the other All-Star starter on defense. More than half of Terminesi's points have come with the Oilers on the power-play. He leads Tulsa with 13 power-play points and ranks third in the CHL with 11 power-play assists.

Being named an All-Star starter is just the latest in a growing list of accolades for Terminesi. He was named CHL Player of the Week for the period ending November 20 after he recorded three points in back to back games against Wichita. Terminesi was also selected by the Tulsa fans as the Defensive Player of the Month for November.

After three seasons of junior hockey with the Brampton Capitals of the OPJHL, Terminesi spent four productive years at division one Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania. He appeared in four games last season with the ECHL's Victoria Salmon Kings before arriving at the Oilers training camp in October.

Jesse Schultz of Rapid City (43 points), Bruce Graham of Allen (36 points), and Brandon Marino of Quad City (35 points) have been named as the starting forwards for the All-Star team. Fort Wayne goalie Nick Boucher, the CHL leader with 15 wins, will get the start in net.

The All-Star reserves will be announced by the league on Thursday.
