West Texas Roughnecks News Release
ODESSA, TX. Tempers flared during an evening practice in which players knew they wouldn't all be returning the following day and a few minor scuffles broke out. "The guys knew there would be cuts and it definitely made them get after each other a little more. In all it was a very spirited practice and the small scraps we had just show that the players have plenty of fire," stated Head Coach, Chris Williams.
The following six players were released:
Antwan Blatch QB
Ricardo Garcia FB/LB
Chris Griffin QB
Glen Johnson LB
Derek Moore WR
O'Neil Strain LB/FB
The following players have been placed on suspended leave for personal matters:
Louis Fite DB
Chris Culbert DB
"Everyday the decisions get harder, all of these guys can play, we may even see some of them down the road," said offensive assistant, Ruben Thompson.
