
Team White Earns Game One Victory at Training Camp Wednesday

Kitchener, Ont. - The 2022 Kitchener Rangers Training Camp, presented by The Armoury Sports Medicine and Performance Clinic, continued Wednesday morning at The Aud with the first of three games between Team Blue and Team White.
Team White earned a 4-2 victory led by a pair of goals from Rangers' forward Mitchell Martin. Luca DiFelice made 19 saves in 45 minutes of action and Sebastian Monaco made 18 saves in 44 minutes.
Team White scored the first two goals early into the opening frame beginning with a tally from Kitchener-native Matthew Sop. Ty Hollett took the puck to the net before DiFelice poke-checked the puck off his stick where Sop cleaned up the rebound.
White earned a two-goal lead when Joseph Serpa dished the puck to Simon Motew who fired the it on net before Matthew Fries deflected it into the goal. Team White lead 2-0 after one period. Shots were 6-5 also in favour of White.
Martin scored the lone goal in the middle frame for his first of two on the morning at 1:31. The assist was credited to Andrew LeBlanc.
A three-goal third period began with Martin's second goal converting on a 2-on-1 pass from Carson Rehkopf at 10:29 to earn Team Blue a 3-1 lead. Then, Team White's Reid Valade found the back-of-the-net on a one-timer, shortside after a pass from Hunter Brzustewicz at 11:54.
Team White's Jacob LeBlanc finished the scoring off with an empty net goal at 14:39 from deep inside White's zone.
Shots finished 22-21 in favour of Team White.
Game two of the Kitchener Rangers Training Camp continues tonight at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium at 7 p.m. ET. All Training Camp practices and games are open and free to the public.
