CHIVAS USA IN GUADALAJARA FOR 10-DAY PRESEASON CAMP: Chivas USA is currently in Guadalajara for its first preseason trip to Mexico since 2005, the club's inaugural year, training at the Multigol complex adjacent to the Verde Valle complex that is home to Mexican partner club Chivas de Guadalajara. The team will train on Wednesday ahead of a Thursday scrimmage against Tapatío, Chivas de Guadalajara's Primera ‘A' affiliate team. Under the direction of Head Coach Preki, a traveling squad of 20 players departed on Sunday from Los Angeles, and the team has already been joined in Guadalajara by several more additions to the squad, from Mexico and elsewhere, for the preseason camp. RED-AND-WHITE EARN 5-1 VICTORY OVER CHINESE SUPER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS IN FIRST PRESEASON SCRIMMAGE: Chivas USA downed Shandong Luneng Taishan F.C. of the Chinese Super League by a 5-1 score on Sunday morning in the club's first preseason scrimmage of 2009. The match, which took place on University Field 2 at The Home Depot Center, featured four second-half goals from the Red-and-White, who departed for Guadalajara later in the day on Sunday. Jesse Marsch, Gilson Tussi, Carey Talley and Kyle Christensen all scored for Chivas USA, and Gerson Mayen added two assists.

BORNSTEIN AND KLJESTAN WITH UNITED STATES NATIONAL TEAM FOR MATCH AGAINST MEXICO: Chivas USA players Jonathan Bornstein and Sacha Kljestan are currently in Columbus, Ohio, with the United States National Team as part of head coach Bob Bradley's 20-player squad ahead of Wednesday's match against Mexico. The game will be the first of the final round of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying for both teams, and will be broadcast live on ESPN2, ESPN2 HD and Univision beginning at 7 p.m. ET. Kljestan is coming off a stellar performance in the last U.S. National Team game, when he scored all three goals in a 3-2 win over Sweden on Jan. 15 at The Home Depot Center.

CHIVAGIRLS AUDITIONS THIS SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 15 AT THE HOME DEPOT CENTER: Chivas USA will hold auditions this Sunday, Feb. 15 for ChivaGirls, Major League Soccer's hottest dance squad, at 10:00 a.m. PT at the Velodrome at The Home Depot Center. A panel of judges, made up of English and Spanish language media personalities, will help select the candidates. A combination of performance, community involvement, and support for Los Angeles' top Major League Soccer team, Chivas USA, has seen the ChivaGirls set the standard for other professional dance teams in MLS. CHIVAS DE GUADALAJARA UPDATE: On Matchday 4 of the 2009 Clausura season in Mexico, Chivas de Guadalajara came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with Necaxa at the Estadio Jalisco. Alfredo Moreno gave Necaxa the lead in the 64th minute, but Ramón Morales, Chivas de Guadalajara's captain, tied the game in the 83rd minute with a brilliant free kick. Chivas is still in first place in Group 2 with eight points from four games, a record of 2-0-2 (W-L-T). Chivas next faces Club Atlético Lanús in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in its first match of the 2009 Copa Libertadores on Wednesday before returning to league action at Santos Laguna on Sunday.
