Team Effort Leads Groove over Revelers

Greenville, SC - Greenville defeated Mobile Saturday night 83-75 at the BI-LO Center. Greenville improves to 17-19 while Mobile falls to 17-19.

Assistant Coach Stephanie Ready led the team to victory, after Coach Rollins was dismissed late in the second quarter. Coach Ready improved to 2-1 as a head coach with the victory tonight.

Four Groove players contributed double figures to the contest tonight; along with Donald Hand, Billy Thomas (15 points), Greg Jones (12 points), and Kevin Lyde (11 points) all had double digits.

Cedric Henderson led the Revelers with 25 points and seven rebounds.. Ernest Brown (19 points) and Derek Hood (11 points) also had double figure nights.

Greenville went on a 21-13 run in the third quarter to capture the lead and never fell behind again. Donald Hand had 12 points and four rebounds in the third quarter to spur on the Groove effort. Hand went 4-4 from the field, 3-3 on the 3-point line in the quarter.

The next Groove game will be Wednesday, February 26 against Fayetteville at 7pm at the Crown Coliseum.
