St. Lucie Mets News Release

BRADENTON, Fla. - Three St. Lucie Mets pitchers combined to toss a two-hitter as the Mets defeated the Bradenton Marauders 4-1 at McKechnie Field on Friday night.

Logan Taylor allowed just one bunt single in six strong innings for his final start of 2015. The one run the Marauders scored against him in the third inning was unearned on a passed ball.

Taylor struck out six and walked three. He came out after a 42 minute rain delay in the bottom of the fifth and retired six straight batters to complete his outing. Overall he retired 10 in a row to end his night.

Jimmy Duff allowed just one infield hit in two scoreless innings. Kyle Regnault picked up his seventh save with a perfect ninth.

The Mets scored all four of their runs in the fifth inning against Cody Dickson. The Mets had four hits, walked three times and sent 10 batters to the plate in the frame.

Vinny Siena, in his second game after being promoted from Brooklyn, turned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead with a two-run, bases loaded double. Matt Oberste plated Yeixon Ruiz on a ground out and Maikis De La Cruz capped the scoring with a two-out single that brought home Siena.

Colton Plaia went 2 for 3 with a walk.

The win by the Mets, coupled with Palm Beach's win over Jupiter, eliminated the Marauders from playoff contention. Palm Beach is the second half champion in the South Division and will play first half champion Charlotte on Tuesday in the Divisional playoff series.

The Mets finish their season on the road with a 31-38 record. They are back to .500 overall (68-68) for the 34th time this season.

The Mets (67-68, 32-33) and Marauders (72-63, 40-25) shift their four-game series to Tradition Field on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. There will be postgame fireworks.
