Tauros 20 Questions: #9 Zach Bross
August 25, 2015 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Minot Minotauros News Release
As the season approaches we will be giving you a chance to meet the new Tauros as well as learn a little more about the returning players by asking them 20 questions. Â We will be going in number order; yesterday we met Ben Falk and today we hear from Zack Bross. Come back tomorrow to hear from Jack Murphy. Â For links to all of the past Tauros 20 Questions look to the bottom of this page.
Zach Bross joins the Tauros from the Nipawin Hawks of the SJHL. Â The Tauros selected him in the seventh round with the 137th pick overall. Â A solid defensive center Bross spent his first season of junior in Canada posting five goals and 10 assists in 52 games for the Hawks. Â Prior to that the Weldon Spring, MO, native posted 16 goals and 22 assists in 70 games in the Tier 1 Elite League for St. Louis.
At 5'11" 179 pounds Bross will also add size to the Tauros center depth that was lacking at times last season. With players like Blake Lizotte, Troy Degler, and Colton Kramer manning the pivot last season the Tauros rarely had a size advantage. Â Bross will look to fit in quickly on the third or fourth line and could provide the style of game the Tauros have lacked since Jake Johnson and Jake McCann left. Â Â
From the Coach's Office: Zach played in Nipiwin in the SJHL last season and has a veteran presence to his game. Zachdoes the intangibles well and plays a physical, in your face type of game. Â We are excited to see Zach compete in exhibition season and fill a role that perhaps we lacked last season; a strong defensive center that you can rely on protecting a lead in the last minute of a game. - Head Coach Marty Murray
