Missouri River Otters News Release

With another spectacular goalkeeping performance from Jason Tapp, the Missouri River Otters blanked the Flint Generals 1-0 Wednesday night at Perani's Arena.

The River Otters took the lead with four minutes remaining in the first period. Justin Quenneville took a pass from Lars Pettersen and sent a terrific pass in front of the net to Barrie Moore. The former Buffalo Sabre made no mistake, burying the puck behind Flint goaltender Dan McIntyre for his third goal of the season. By not allowing any goals in the period, Tapp broke the franchise record for consecutive shutout periods, with seven.

Tapp was sensational in the second period, stopping all 16 shots the Generals fired his way. Bobby Reynolds and Leo Thomas both had partial breakaways, but the Otters netminder stoned both of them.

Flint peppered the net in the third period, but again were stymied by Tapp, who made several phenomenal saves on Reynolds.

Tapp made 32 saves for the Otters for his fifth shutout of the season, while McIntyre made 13 saves in defeat. The River Otters next game is Friday night at 7:30 EST against the Kalamazoo Wings. All the action can be heard on KSLQ 104.5 and the B2 Webcast at www.riverotters.com.
