Talons Move To #2 in Coaches Poll

TULSA-The Tulsa Talons (9-1) moved up a spot after beating Wilkes-Bare Scranton 66-48 this past Saturday. The Talons will play the Arkansas Twisters this Saturday at the BOK Center at 7pm. The Talons have won 8 straight games. The Twisters have won seven of the past eight and lead the series 10-7. WEEK 11 TOP 10

The Talons were able to move up a spot in the poll after beating Wilkes-Barre Scranton. In the last week's game, Talons Quarterback Justin Allgood threw for 237 yards and seven touchdowns, giving him a league-leading 71 for the year. He also became only the second Talon to eclipse the 7,000 yard mark for his career. He now has 7,098. Talons offensive coordinator Craig Strickland threw for 10,509 yards in his Tulsa playing career (2000-01, '03).

This week the Talons hope to increase their winning streak to 9 games. Both quarterbacks are having outstanding seasons. Allgood is on pace to break the league record for most touchdown passes in a season. He currently has 71 touchdown passes through 10 games. Arkansas Quarterback Kyle Rowley is projected to pass the single season passing yards record. He currently has 3, 032 yards and the record is 4,680 set by D. Bryant of South Georgia in 2007.

The Talons are at home this Saturday to face one of their biggest rivals, the Arkansas Twisters on June 13th at 7pm. The next Talons home game is July 11th against Rio Grande Valley. For information on group or individual tickets, call 918.294.1000.
