San Antonio Talons News Release

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (July 11, 2012) - The Arena Football League (AFL) confirmed Tuesday that the San Antonio Talons (13-3) will host the first round of playoffs at the Alamodome on Friday, July 27, in a 7 p.m. CST game that will be broadcast live to a national television audience via the NFL Network.

"We came out in our inaugural season to show the rest of the nation that San Antonio is a true football city," says Talons CEO Beau Raich. "With a top record in the league and the longest winning streak of the season, our players continue to hit that point home every time they step on the field, and we look forward to shining the spotlight on our home and our team this playoff season."

San Antonio's opponent on July 27 will be determined pending the outcome of the remaining regular season games, but whomever they host, the Talons guarantee it will be an event not to miss.

"It isn't too often you see a new team in a new city that comes out ready to dominate a national league," says Head Coach Lee Johnson. "But our determination and talent have made that possible this year and we'll continue to bring our all to the field until long after the clock runs out."

The Talons (13-3) claimed a 61-54 victory over the Chicago Rush (9-7) last Sunday, pushing them to the top spot in the AFL Power rankings and making them the official 2012 Central Division Champions in their inaugural season. The team, who return home to the Alamodome this Friday to play the last regular season home game of the year, will face off against the Arizona Rattlers (12-4) at 7 p.m. The outcome of this Friday's game will determine home field advantage for playoffs, with a victory guaranteeing the Talons home field advantage up to the ArenaBowl, slated for August 10 in New Orleans.

A playoff bracket, based on the most current game records can be found at http://www.arenafootball.com/playoffbracket.

The first round of playoff games on July 27 are included in the 2012 Season Ticket Holder package; should the Talons host the second round of playoffs, 2012 Season Ticket Holders will have first rights to purchase their regular seats at season ticket holder prices.

Tickets for playoffs will be available in the next week, and can be purchased through the team website at www.SanAntonioTalons.com or at any Ticketmaster location.
