Gallup, NM. - The ABA Gallup Talons were able to rebound from their first loss of the season to SoCal with a win over the Orange County Buzz 103-91 the next night. The Talons came out motivated and ready to play as the Talons received scoring in bunches in the first frame as Brandon Mason had nine in the quarter on way to 23 points for the night. Larry Morinia hit two threes in the quarter on way to 8 points in the quarter and Alvin Broussard in his second Talons game had 5 points in the frame and ended up with 25 to lead the Talons.
In the second quarter, the Talons were able to build their lead into double digits as they put pressure defensively on the Buzz forcing four straight 3D lights at one point to end the first half. The run helped the Talons push their lead up to 18 at half and the Talons kept the momentum going into the second half.
Gallup kep their lead in double digits for the remainder of the game as Mason and Bernard McIntosh went for 11 & 12 points respectively in the second half. McIntosh collected yet another double-double on the night as he had 20-points and 15-rebounds on the night for the Talons.
In the fourth, Broussard caught fire for the Talons, putting the exclamation point on the game with 12 points in the fourth quarter to help the Talons get back on the winning track. For more information, email kolbsteven18@aol.com or visit www.abalive.com.
