San Angelo Bandits News Release
San Angelo, Texas - The San Angelo Bandits acquired a pair of 6'3" receivers, signing Ricardo Johnson and Michael Allen to catch passes in 2016.
"Both of these guys bring a lot of versatility to the team," said General Manager and Head Coach Meadow Lemon. "They both have experience as blockers and have proven they have great hands as well. These guys are going to be weapons in both the passing and run game for us."
Allen (6'3", 228) was named a first-team tight end by OklahomaSports.net as a senior at East Central Oklahoma University, where he caught 53 passes for 619 yards and two touchdowns in his career. The versatile Allen also played as a fullback and tight end, even returning one kickoff for 14 yards. This will be his first year playing professional football.
Johnson (6'3", 210) also played tight end in college, catching 54 passes for 637 yards and six touchdowns at Graceland University. Last year he played with the IFL's Green Bay Blizzard, where he caught two passes for 16 yards in limited action.
