San Angelo Bandits News Release
San Angelo, Texas - The San Angelo Bandits are building their offensive line, as they added former AFL product Brandon Lockheart andJaleel Taylor of the AIF's ASI Panthers.
"Wins start by winning the battle on the line," said General Manager and Head Coach Meadow Lemon. "I worked with Brandon when I was with the Portland Thunder and I know that he's capable of winning battles and playing any position. Jaleel has that ability to play up the middle; we learned in Portland that you can't just take any lineman and make him a center, so we're ready for Jaleel to take care of that position for us."
Lockheart(6'7" 315) played both offensive and defensive lines for the AFL's Portland Thunder after earning a position on the team through an open tryout. In addition to protecting the quarterback, he caught a pass for eight yards and recorded 1.5 tackles and recovered a fumble.
Taylor (6'2" 318) played center for the 5-3 ASI Panthers of the AIF. Prior to that, he anchored the line for the University of North Haven and spent time on the practice squad for the Philadelphia Eagles. Taylor also played basketball in high school and coaches basketball in his free time.
