Bandits on the Road Again
February 29, 2016 - Champions Indoor Football (CIF)
San Angelo Bandits News Release
This past weekend the San Angelo Bandits traveled to Dodge City, KS for the Champion Indoor Football season opener. During the opening ceremonies the league Commissioner Randy Sanders presented the first ever Darlene Jones CIF Franchise of the Year award to the Dodge City Law for 2015. Though there were some emotional moments this was well received by the fans and the players.
The Bandits under Coach Lemon's direction fought a good battle but could not overcome the Dodge City Law ending with a score of 66 to 43. It was clearly obvious that the Dodge City team had an upper advantage because they have complete access to their indoor arena for training camp and practice. While San Angelo was getting their bearings because they are unable to use their coliseum during training camp and are forced to play outside on whatever turf they can find around San Angelo. This gives them a marked disadvantage but this is what we have to work with.
At the end of the game the Dodge City Law prevailed on their home opener and their fans were ecstatic with the final results. This sets the stage for a great home opener at the San Angelo Bandits on March 12th @ 7PM. Coach Lemon has a great team this year but needs to train them in the indoor game. This is going to be a real shootout. The charity of the night will be St Jude. $1 will be donated to St. Jude on any ticket purchased at the Bandits office. For more information on the upcoming games or to purchase tickets call 325-942-3696.
