Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release

Saskatchewan Roughrider coaches and players are once again trading in their footballs for softballs for a day to challenge the Regina Police Service in a charity slo-pitch game for the Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Saskatchewan Special Olympics.

Tickets for the charity ball game scheduled for Friday, May 16, 2002, 7:00 p.m. at Kaplan Field, can be purchased by calling 585-1456. Tickets for the event are $5 per person and $10 per family.

The Saskatchewan Roughrider team will feature head coach Danny Barrett and members of his staff as well as current players such as Chris Szarka, Nealon Greene, Ray Jacobs and more. Roster is subject to change.

Members of the Rider slo-pitch squad will also be on hand to sign autographs and assist members of the Law Enforcement Torch Run and Citizens Police Academy Alumni in flipping burgers at the pre-game barbecue, which starts at 6:00 p.m.

Fans are invited to attend this family event to cheer on the Roughriders in support of Saskatchewan Special Olympics. Special Olympics provide sport and recreation programs to people with intellectual disabilities.
