T-Bones rally in ninth, beat RiverHawks, 8-3

LOVES PARK, Ill. - Three Kansas City batters hit home runs in the ninth inning as the T-Bones rallied to beat the Rockford RiverHawks, 8-3, Thursday at Road Ranger Stadium.

Dwayne White, Jake Blackwood and Ray Sadler each homered in KC's six-run ninth inning. Rico Washington also homered for the T-Bones. Victor Diaz homered for the RiverHawks.

Rockford fell three games out of the last Northern League playoff spot with the loss. Fourth-place Joliet beat Schaumburg, 4-2.

Rockford closer Scott Roehl lost a 3-2 lead and took the loss. White led off with a pinch-hit home run. With two on and two out, Blackwood hit his league-leading 30th home run. Roehl (5-2) left after a walk and Ray Sadler drilled a two-run shot off Mike McTamney out of the stadium.

Casey Hodges (2-2), the fourth of five KC pitchers, won in relief.

The series continues at 7:05 p.m. Friday. It's The Power Connection Baseball Card Night, the Friday Fish Fry and Road Ranger Free Gas Friday. The first 1,000 through the gate receive the 2010 RiverHawks baseball card team set. The game is not scheduled to be broadcast.
