SIOUX CITY, IA - The Explorers went to the ninth inning with a 6-2 lead but were unable to hold on to it as Kansas City put together a 5 run rally in the ninth to give the T-Bones the 7-6 win.

Taylor Jordan was absolutely masterful tonight for Sioux City. He pitched 8 innings of 2 run ball with only 1 run being earned. He struck out 4 and walked none. At one point Jordan retired 15 straight Kansas City batters between the second and seventh innings.
The T-Bones would get to Jordan in the seventh, after Dylan Tice reached on an error, the next three men up would record hits, scoring two runs for Kansas City and make it 5-2 X's after seven.
Jose Sermo took a ball over the left field fence going opposite field in the eighth to give the Explorers at the time an insurance run and make it a 6-2 game.
Geoff Broussard would take over for Jordan in the ninth with a 4-run lead. Tice would double down the left field line to lead off the inning. After Zach Walters struck out Broussard then walked the next two batters to load the bases with one out. Adrian Nieto would then single to drive in two runs and cut the lead for Sioux City to 6-4.
Tyler Fallwell would replace Broussard and strike out the first batter he faced. Then with two out in the inning and two on for Kansas City, Dexter Kjerstad hit a towering 3-run home run to left field to give the T-Bones a 7-6 lead and complete the comeback and 5-run ninth inning rally.
Francisco Gracesqui came in for the bottom of the ninth to record his second save of the season working around a 2 out walk to Samson.
The X's fall to 9-3 on the season and allow Kansas City to climb to within 1.5 games back in the southern division. Game three of the four game series will be played Thursday with first pitch at 7:05.
