SYRACUSE, New York - Friday night will play host to Star Wars night for the Syracuse Silver Knights against the Baltimore Blast (4-0). Tommy Tanner's squad will look to revenge a loss to the Baltimore Blast in the team's first game of the season.
The Silver Knights will have a different look for Friday night with their all new Star Wars jerseys. The Star Wars will be the first specialty jersey of the season for the Silver Knights that will follow the same format as years prior. All jerseys from the game will be auctioned off in a live auction immediately following the game with proceeds going to CenterState CEO Â Â
Star Wars night will be featuring much more than just special jerseys. The first 1,000 kids, 16 and under, will receive a free light sword sponsored by BlueRock Energy. All fans will also get the chance to take their picture with Darth Vader at the game!
"We are excited for the game and we know it's a big night. I hope people come out for the game, check out the jerseys, get their light swords, make some noise, and support the team." Said Tommy Tanner Thursday morning. "The guys are really looking forward to it and wearing the specialty jerseys is always fun for the fans and the players."
In their previous matchup this season the Blast got the best of the Silver Knights 6-0 in the first game of the season for both squads. Starting in goal for the Silver Knights that game was MASL Rookie, Matt Perrella who made 13 saves, came up short in the loss. Since being shut out that night, the Silver Knights have gone 2-1 and have outscored their opponents 22-17.
The Silver Knights will be looking to improve to 3-2 on the season with a win on Friday night. This will be the last time fans have a chance to check out the Silver Knights in 2015 as the team will return back home on January 8th to take on the Harrisburg Heat.
