Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC News Release
Austin, Texas - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC opened their 2015 inaugural USL season on the road in Austin, Texas.
In what was a well-fought match from both sides at House Park, the Aztex came out on top. The Switchbacks totaled 10 shots on goal, while the Aztex had 11. The Aztex were able to break through the Switchbacks' defense and capitalize on two of those shots, with goals coming from forwards Sainey Touray and Trevin Caesar.
It was clear from the start just how intense the game was going to be. The Switchbacks held their ground and deflected numerous attacks in the fast-paced contest. The Switchbacks were able to find an open man on two occasions, connecting shots on both, but weren't able to get the ball in the net.
The next match for the Switchbacks will be the Home Opener in one week on Saturday, April 4th at 1 p.m. in Colorado Springs at Sand Creek Stadium, when they take on the Oklahoma City Energy FC.
