Sweets Sweep Senators
July 16, 2015 - West Coast League (WCL)
Walla Walla Sweets News Release
Walla Walla, Wa- A big seventh inning helped put away the third game of the series between the Sweets and the Senators as Walla Walla won 15-3. The win gave the Sweets a sweep of Thurson County.
The offense came early from Walla Walla, just as it had all series long. They put up a run in the first, two in the second and two in the third to open up an early 5-0 lead.
After a run in the sixth to make it 6-1, Walla Walla would burst through the flood gate in the seventh. They sent 14 batters to the plate and scored nine runs on six hits. The first six hitters reached before an out was recorded by Thurston County and Dyllin Mucha and Myles Hager both had two RBI in the inning.
That would make the score 15-1 into the eighth. The Senators would score a couple of harmless runs in the last two frames, but the Sweets' offensive firepower in the seventh was too much.
Hager finished the game 4-4 with a double and three RBI. That performance capped off a fantastic series for the shortstop as he hit .692 (9-13) with a home run, two doubles, nine RBI and four walks.
The Sweets will come back to Borleske tomorrow and head right back into league play against the Bend Elks. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.
