
Sweets' Season Comes to a Close on Extra Inning Loss

Walla Walla, Wa- The last game of the season came down to the wire for the Sweets and the Falcons, but Kelowna pulled it out with a 12-9 win in 11 innings. The Falcons end the season at 34-19 and the Sweets finish 22-31.
The Sweets were down early, they came back from down two in the second to score four and take the 4-2 lead. They would give up another run in the third and then three more in the fifth inning to make it 6-4 Kelowna.
The Sweets would counter with three more in the bottom half and make it 7-6. That score would hold into the eighth where the Falcons would take the lead back with three more.
Walla Walla then came back again with one in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI single by Dyllin Mucha, but still had the bases loaded with no one out. The then popped out and grounded into a double play back to the pitcher that went 1-2-3.
With two out in the ninth, the Sweets tied it up at 9-9 with three straight singles by Nick Halamandaris, Parker Coss and the RBI base hit by Dylan Wilbert. The Sweets could not score after that and they gave up three in the 11th inning for the second time in the series.
The Falcons swept the Sweets and now they go onto the post-season while the Sweets are headed home.
