April 12, 2018 - West Coast League (WCL)
Walla Walla Sweets News Release

Walla Walla, Wash. - Great players and winning baseball is still the best promotion in the industry. However, a remarkable giveaway, fireworks, or $2 drink night can often be a close second. Excitement awaits at Borleske stadium for Walla Walla Sweets fans this summer, as the club has released their full promotional schedule for the upcoming 2018 season.

One of the biggest changes Sweets fans can look forward to this year is that first pitch times have been changed. Regular start times have been moved from 7:05 PM to 6:35 PM, and Sunday start times to 4:35 PM. Gates will still open at 6:00 PM/4:00 PM. Fireworks nights will remain scheduled at 7:05 (with gates at 6:00 PM) to allow for the skies to be dark enough to shoot.

"After speaking with our fans, players and coaches, an extra 30 minutes at the end of the evening meant a lot," said Sweets general manager Dan Ferguson. "It's the difference between having to get home to bed for work the next day - that doesn't change - but now seeing an exciting finish in the 9th inning or walking out after the 7th inning stretch."

Full details on specific promotions with links to individual games will be shared on the Sweets website and via social media channels. Check out the full schedule online for all start time information: Sweets Schedule

In 2017, the Sweets modified their outside Food & Beverage policy. Outside food is permitted. It must be wrapped & sealed in a clear sandwich bag, or in a re-sealable plastic container - food must be visible and not in a commercial or restaurant container. Fruit must be quartered (i.e. apple slices). Fans are permitted (1) Factory-sealed water bottle per fan or empty plastic water receptacle for personal consumption. No glass, carbonated alcoholic, sports/energy, or unsealed full water bottles will be permitted. Per the law, no consumption of alcohol in the parking lot will be permitted.

Now that the required boring stuff is out of the way, here is the fun stuff. New this season, the Sweets will feature Bud Light Batting Practice dates, select dates where gates will open at 5:30 PM. Fans can enter an hour prior to first pitch and allow them to enjoy in Happy Hour drink specials, games, ballpark snacks, tacos, sunshine, and more - while batting practice is wrapping up. Any ticketed fan for the game can attend.

Additional highlights include:

Premium Nights that include caps, dog bowls, Adam West statues, Victory flags, team posters, and summer canteens

The popular Terrific Tuesday, with $2 reserved tickets when purchased in advance of the game

Buy One, Get One Reserved Tickets on Wednesdays
